XenServer - support for standard T10 SCSI commands - storage array integration

inclusion of standard t10 SCSI commands would make huge differences if they were included in the iSCSI initiator

Thus Xen would have "hardware accelerated" storage on any VAAI approved storage appliances or LIO/QuadStor installations.

We have seen massive improvements in snapshot, cloning times etc from these commands - and is the only reason we aren't moving to Xen from VMWare.

Absolutely! The advantages here would be huge and keeping up with what VMware implemented YEARS AGO. Storage I/O has been an issue for ages and this would help significantly, especially given how many contemporary storage arrays support VAAI.

this is similar to VMware VAAI - storage configuration automation, allowing VMware to perform storage-side copies, snapshots, LUN allocations, and other advanced features on SANs that support it.
